After receiving a draft peace proposal to resolve the conflict with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is prepared for “honest work” with the United States.According to a number of US media sites, the proposal calls for Kyiv to reduce the strength of its force, give up parts of the Donbas in eastern Ukraine that it still holds, and promise never to join NATO.Although the extent of Ukraine’s involvement in the plan’s design remained unknown, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the US had “equally with both sides” involvement.Zelensky’s office added that Ukraine had “agreed to work on the plan’s provisions in a way that would bring about a just end to the war” in a different statement.
