Pahalgam attack: On Monday afternoon, the conversations went on for around ninety minutes. Following the meeting, no comment was issued by the council. Closed-door meetings of the UN Security Council were conducted Monday to discuss the growing tensions between India and Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror assault. The envoys urged moderation and communication during the conference, which was organized at Pakistan’s request. Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, stated that one of the goals of the confidential meetings was to allow the members to discuss the worsening security situation and growing tensions between India and Pakistan. For the month of May, the council is presided over by Greece, a non-permanent member.
